Homeschool Mama

Welcome!

I’m Lauren Wells and, to be honest, sometimes I forget that I have other titles too. As I sit on my back deck typing this, it’s strange to think about all the twists and turns of life that have created the kaleidoscope of roles and experiences that are a part of my everyday.

My first title was “Missionary Kid” - raised between California and East Africa (and a short bit in the Philippines). This upbringing fostered my passion for seeing expatriate families thrive in their overseas lives.

My career took off after studying Child Development in college and a decade of working in the field of TCK (Third Culture Kid) care for. I started a small business (TCK Training) to provide services and resources to expatriate families. So I became an Entrepreneur.

Somewhere around that same time, I became Mama to my two girls! (my very favorite title)

I became known as an advocate for “preventive TCK care” and as blogging turned into books I became an Author too.

As TCK Training grew, I went from solo entrepreneur to CEO of a thriving business with 20+ employees. TCK Training expanded to having a sub-brand, Unstacking Co, that has allowed us to create resources and training for everyone - not just expat families.

A growing company led to growing opportunities and I’ve been privileged to be a Keynote Speaker for events all over the world. It has become one of my absolute favorite things to do.

As my girls grew, started school, and life shifted - we took them out of public school and I began homeschooling them. So work life decreased and home life increased as I became a Homeschool Mama!

I’m also a wife to Aaron, a follower of Jesus, a runner, and incase you think I’ve got it all together, I’m always running 5 minutes behind, my laundry-mountain is rarely conquered, I’m a chronic over-planner, and I am the worst at remembering birthdays.

All of the above has been peppered with intense good and intense grief and loss - both of which have grown and shaped me. One of which I would much rather do without. I share some of those harder stories in my writing and speaking, but this brief page isn’t the place for that. So, enjoy some fun pictures and great resources!

I’m so glad you’re here.

Homeschool Life

I never planned to be a homeschool mama, but as the girls grew it became clear that public school was no longer the best fit. We are loving the adventure, learning, travel and time together that homeschooling gives us!
